We're talking about mental illness with some of the people featured in the new podcast "They Are Us."

is a new seven-part series about mental health airing on VPR featuring the personal stories of Vermonters. We're convening a conversation with some of the people from that podcast, and we'll talk about their perspectives on mental illness, stigma and mental health care.

We're joined by Sarah Holland, who has lived with major depression since her early 30s. She owns the River's Bend Design landscaping company in Moretown.

Also by Ron, who has an adult son with schizophrenia. (We're just identifying Ron by his first name to preserve the privacy of his son.)

And by Louis Josephson, president and CEO of the Brattleboro Retreat.

Broadcast on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at noon; rebroadcast at 7 p.m.

Ric was a producer for Vermont Edition and host of the VPR Cafe.
